Day 1              

Day 2 (Train Departure at 07 40) (Arrive  Chandigarh at 11 05)

? Nek Chand Rock Garden was illegally built in 1957, by Nek Chand Saini, a government official, in his spare time using industrial and home waste. He recycled the material to build his own vision of the divine kingdom of Sukrani. 18 years later, it was found out and was in danger of demolition as it was built on a land conservancy, a forest buffer. Fortunately,he had the public opinion on his side and eventually was given 50 laborers so he could concentrate full-time on his work

? Sukhana Lake is at the foothill of the Himalayas. (Enjoy boat ride on the lake)

Day 3 (Train Departure at 12 10) (Arrive Delhi at 17 30)

? Kalka – Shimla Railway (approx. 5 hours 20 minutes) constructed by the British to connect the mountain town Shimla, to the plains by approximately 100 km of railway passing through more than 100 tunnels in 1903. It provides a view of the untamed wilderness of Shimla with dramatic views of the hills and surrounding villages. (Packed lunch will be provided on the train.)

Shimla was the summer capital of India during the British raj.

Day 4

? Indian Institute of Advanced Study is a research institute housed in the former Viceregal Lodge, built during the British rule with spacious gardens crowned by beautiful pine trees.

? Jakhu Temple is dedicated to Hanuman, the Hindu monkey god. According to legend, the Ramayana, Hanuman stopped here to rest while searching for the Sanjiyni Booti to revive Lakshmana.

Day 5

? Naldera Golf Course: A stop on the way to the Naldera village.

? Naldera Village: Have lunch at a local restaurant. Visit villagers’ houses, experience their daily life and spend time in local orchard.

Day 6 (Train Departure at 18 23) (Arrive Delhi at 21 55)

? Mughal Gardens is a Persian style garden in Kalka.

Day 7

? Taj Mahal one of the 7 wonder of the World, Taj Mahal, the beautiful white marble architecture was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, died during the birth of their 14th child.

? Agra Fort the crescent shaped fort that was commissioned and constructed with deep moats surrounding the outer 2.4 km wall facing the river and provides a good view of Taj Mahal. The fort was built by Great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D.

Day 8 

? Qutub Minar was built in 1199 by Qutub-ud-Din. The sultan’s successor and son-in-law, Iltutmish, completed it. The purpose of building is unclear. Some believe that it was built as a tower of victory, signifying the beginning of Muslim rule in India, while others say it served as a minaret to the adjoining mosque.

? Lotus Temple is surrounded by a landscaped garden and is a symbol of peace.  This is the Asian headquarters of the Bahai faith, and a circular temple that is open to all.
