10 Aug: DELHI – SRINAGAR DOMESTIC FLIGHT BLD
After breakfast transfer to airport to board on your scheduled flight to Srinagar. Srinagar is located in the heart of the Kashmir valley at an altitude of 1,730 m above sea level, spread on both sides of the river Jhelum. The Dal and Nagin lakes enhance its picturesque setting, while the changing play of the seasons and the salubrious climate ensures that the city is equally attractive to visitors around the year. On arrival, transfer to Deluxe Houseboat, made of wood, offering 1-4 bedrooms with attached toilets. “DAL LAKE” and “NAGIN LAKE” are known for rows of Houseboats they
harbour. Houseboats are grand fitted with Kashmiri wood carved furniture and rich
Kashmiri carpets. There is pantry, dining room and Living room apart from having a front
balcony facing the lake. The choices of meals
on houseboat are western, Kashmiri, Northern
Indian cuisine. Evening to enjoy your ride on a Kashmiri gondola known locally as Shikara. This interesting ride takes you through
the lake where you can find natives engaged in farming on water and carrying their produce on their Sikara to market or their
houses. This ride also offers spectacular Himalayas mirrored in the lakes.
11 Aug: SONAMARG EXCURSION 162 Km both ways, WHOLE DAY EXCURSION BLD
Enjoy your morning at the houseboat and after breakfast drive
to leave for Sonmarg (Meadow of Gold). The distance of about
81 kms, will be covered in about 3 hrs. Sonmarg lies in Sindh
Valley streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains.
Sonmarg is also the base for some interesting treks to the high
altitude Himalayan Lakes. You can embark on a hike up to
Thajiwas Glacier, a renowned destination for those who visit
Sonamarg. This gives a perfect natural setting for a movie shoot
or a nature walk. The refreshing nature walk takes you through
the rich alpine flora & fauna, the majority of deciduous trees are
of different varieties of pines, cedar, chest nut, walnut & birch.
The freezing cold white water coming out of the glacier
meandering through the rugged terrain provides a soothing
natural sound and music to everyone’s ears. On completion
start with your land journey back to Srinagar. Reach Srinagar and check in to the houseboat. Evening at leisure or you can opt
to visit the left over places of interest, which you might have skipped the previous day due to hectic schedule. Overnight stay in
houseboat.
12 Aug: SRINAGAR – PAHALGAM 90 Km, around 2.5 hours drive BLD
After breakfast transfer to the land transport to begin with your
land journey towards Pahalgam. It will a bit less than three hours
of road journey through a spectacular scenery all the way to
Pahalgam. Srinagar is located in the heart of the Kashmir valley
at
an

Jhelum. Today’s drive will take you to the best kept secret of the Himalayas i.e. the natural beauty. It provides magnificent views
of the Himalayas. You will see lots of paddy fields and scattered villages with farmers working on their fields of the valley along
your drive. Drive past all the fertile land of Srinagar and enter in to another Himalayan Valley to reach Pahalgam. Mountain trails
of Pahalgam run northeast to Amarnath Cave Temple, a Hindu shrine and site of the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. Overa
Aru Wildlife Sanctuary is home to animals including brown bears and musk deer. Northeast, the Lidder River runs through scenic
Betaab Valley. Southeast, Tulian Lake is flanked by mountain peaks and often frozen. Evening at leisure at Pahalgam.
13 Aug: PAHALGAM BLD
A day to explore Pahalgam and enjoy your time being in the alpine set up among the nature. Pahalgam is surrounded by
mountains and pine forests, located at the banks of Lidder River at the altitude of 7200 ft. The main attractions for tourists at
Pahalgam are Hikes, fishing and horse riding. Pahalgam is well known for its trout fish in Lidder River. It is supposedly a serene
place to rest and relax in the vicinity of nature. Spend your time exploring the beautiful valley and walk up to the view point
through thick pined forests. Enjoy your lunch at the hotel and evening at leisure at Pahalgam. Overnight stay at Pahalgam.
14 Aug: PAHALGAM – SRINAGAR 90 KM, 2.5 hours drive BLD
Get up early in the morning and enjoy a refreshing morning walk around the neighborhood to breathe in the fresh air and to
experience the early life in the mountains. Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel and embark on your nature trail. People mostly
come to Pahalgam to enjoy the nature at its best. The lush green meadows, fragrant pine forests and meandering rivers. On
completion drive towards Srinagar and visit the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and the Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love),
collectively known as Mughal Gardens. Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) Queen Nur Jahan's brother, Asif Khan, laid the
Garden in 1633 A.D. It is situated on the banks of the Dal Lake in the backdrop of the Zabarwan hills. Shalimar Bagh (Abode of
love) was built by Emperor Jahangir for his beloved wife, Nurjahan. The gardens with four terraces is 539 by 182 meters and
gets water from Harwan through a canal lined with fountains. The fourth terrace was once reserved for royal ladies Cheshma
Shahi or the Royal Spring was laid by Shah Jahan in 1632 A.D. pay your visit to Shankaracharya Temple or Jyeshteshwara
Temple, it is a Hindu temple situated on top of the Shankaracharya Hill on the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar. It is dedicated to
Lord Shiva. The temple is at a height of 1,000 feet above the valley floor and overlooks the city of Srinagar. Many sources
suggest that the temple was a Buddhist place of worship at some time and was changed into a Hindu temple by the great saint
and philosopher Adi Shankaracharya. Built in the indigenous early Kashmiri style of architecture, the temple was built sometime
in 200 B.C by the great Indian Emperor Ashoka’s son, Jalauka. In the evening return to your Houseboat for overnight stay.
15 Aug: GULMARG EXCURSION 125 Km both ways, WHOLE DAY EXCURSION BLD
After breakfast at Houseboat, depart by surface to Gulmarg - one of the most beautiful summer resorts in Kashmir valley. It is
also well known for its golf course during summer season and ski resort during the winter season. Enjoy the splendour of nature
and the snowy mountains. Enjoy Gondola ride (Cable car) from Gulmarg to Kongdoor (first half). Afternoon return back to
Srinagar and take a stroll to witness the way of life in the alleys and small streets of Srinagar town. Dinner served at your
houseboat.
16 Aug: SRINAGAR – DELHI – FLY HOME DOMESTIC & INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS B
